Olya Sheweli

We are very pleased to nominate Olya Sheweli for the Trillium Award for Lifetime Leadership Achievement on behalf of the Ukrainian Women’s Organization – Hamilton Branch. Olya has spent many years giving her time, energy, and heart to our community, and her impact can be felt across Hamilton and well beyond.

Over the years, Olya has been involved in countless projects that celebrate Ukrainian culture, support women, welcome newcomers, and keep our community strong. Her leadership comes naturally—not through titles, but through her actions, her reliability, and her genuine love for Ukraine.

One of the things we value most about Olya is the way she engages and encourages those around her. She has guided many new volunteers, helped long‑time members stay connected, and created an atmosphere where people feel appreciated and motivated to get involved. Her influence has shaped our Hamilton branch in meaningful and lasting ways.

Her vast experience across multiple Ukrainian community organizations has become a strong foundation for our branch’s future, guiding our work and shaping our direction.
